Day 1 – Las Vegas to Zion
Welcome to Las Vegas! Meet your guide in the morning, then we’ll head off for our adventure where we’ll be surrounded by awe-inspiring 2,000-foot sandstone cliffs, and majestic beauty. Our first stop, Snow Canyon; known as the ‘mini-Zion’, the canyon cuts impressive walls from the lava-covered country above the rim through to the slickrock country below. Along the way, we’ll enjoy stunning views and visit (and perhaps explore) young lava tubes – a great introduction to Canyon Country!
Day 2 – Zion National Park – Virgin River Narrows
Today, we’ll experience the Virgin River Narrows Hike. Our hike starts with a stroll down the paved River Trail. Buttressed by water on our left and a 3,000-foot cliff face on the right, the River Trail gives us an up-close appreciation for the powerful hydrological forces that carved this incredible canyon. After walking along hanging gardens and under the dappled shade of majestic cottonwoods, we enter the river. Hiking in moving water can be a new and exciting experience, so we’ll take our time to get our “stream legs” before walking another 1.5 miles upriver to our turnaround point at Orderville Canyon. As we descent back downstream to the trailhead, we’ll stop off for a shoreline picnic lunch.
In the afternoon, we head back to the Ranch for our Rock Drop Canyon & Jeep Tour. This canyoneering adventure is ideal for a large group as it allows spectators to join without participating in the actual rappelling. This short, but beautiful canyon features two rappels with the highest totaling 100 feet. Additionally, the route is a scenic jeep experience so we’ll end our day with views of Zion National Park’s backcountry.
Day 3 – Zion National Park – Scouts Lookout
On our 3rd day in Canyon Country, we’ll embark on an exciting exploration of Zion Canyon. As we make our way to Scout Lookout, enjoy stunning views of Zion Canyon’s 270-million-year-old rock layers that take you back in time to the Triassic period, when this section of the Colorado Plateau was just a flat basin at sea level. We ascend a series of steep switchbacks along the canyon wall. Then the trail flattens out as it enters Refrigerator Canyon, offering some short relief from the elevation gain. But not for long as the climb resumes at Walter’s Wiggles, a series of 21 switchbacks that leads hikers to the Scout Lookout. Here we’ll take a well-earned break to enjoy the incredible views, and a picnic lunch under the shade.
Once we return to the trailhead, we’ll head back to the Ranch for some yoga, breathwork, and/or cold plunge sessions. After dinner, we’ll enjoy the evening beneath the stars with a knowledgeable star expert. Zion National Park is a certified International Dark Sky Park, and this region is dotted with billions of stars at night. Learn about the constellations, complete with a telescope, hot chocolate bar, and blankets!
Day 4 – Return to Vegas
Our time in Zion has come to an end, but not before one last adventure! Pack up early, after breakfast we’ll head out on a thrilling UTV ride followed by a stunning hike into a Slot Canyon. Be prepared to maneuver up and down multiple 5-6 foot boulder obstacles, with the assistance of your guide. As you climb through the length of Crimson Canyon, enjoy the stunning views and reflect upon your time in Canyon Country.
*Alternative Option– If it’s October, we have the option to experience a thrilling via ferrata climb up Kolob Canyon, instead of the hiking through Crimson Canyon. Either adventure provides the group with unforgettable experiences and memories to last a lifetime. Afterwards, we’ll head back to Las Vegas to say our farewells until next time.
